Tassal Group Ltd is the largest aquaculture company in Australia, employing over 750 people and marketing 65% of the Tasmanian salmon industry’s production. Tassal is a vertically integrated company from hatchery, through to farming, processing, value adding, and distribution, sales and marketing.

Tassal offers employment opportunities in a wide range of professions.

Tassal has 7 sites located around Tasmania including Dover, Bruny, North West Bay, Strahan and Nubeena.  The structure of Tassal’s marine farms enables pathways for career progression for those wishing to continue their development within the Company.  Each farm employs approximately 20 to 25 staff.  The farm is headed up by a Regional Manager with an Operations Manager, several team leaders and a number of farm attendants.

Each farm employs up to 5 full time dive crew members, plus a number of stand by divers who are available at short notice to fill in or assist the core dive crew during the high demand periods.

Tassal has an interest in building its employees’ CVs, continually putting them through courses such as commercial boating, engineering and dive supervisor.
