Huon Aquaculture

Huon Aquaculture Co Pty Ltd is one of the largest Atlantic salmon farmers in Australia and produces the Huon brand of premium salmon products.  Huon operates a major farm operation in the beautiful Huon River from its main operations site at Hideaway Bay near Dover in southern Tasmania. 

Huon maintains 3 dive teams operating year round, with a fourth team engaged during the busy summer period.  Huon’s divers perform a range of work activities in depths up to 30 metres.  Key work activities include net inspections, repairs and in-water modifications; mooring inspections and repairs; preparation of fish pens for towing and bathing of fish in fresh water; and monitoring fish health and mortality.  The ability to operate high pressure cleaning equipment, airlifts and small tools is an advantage in our work environment. 

Huon Aquaculture values commercial divers trained at the Aquaculture and Part 2 levels, but also engages many divers with Part 3 qualifications.  Their work environment provides a wide range of exciting diving opportunities that allow ongoing development of skills in a dynamic and highly technical environment.
