The Underwater Centre, based in Beauty Point, Tasmania, is a sister company to The Underwater Centre, Fort William, Scotland. The Fort William school is one of the oldest and most prestigious commercial diver training schools originally created by the UK government to address the demand for commercial divers in the North Sea. The two Centres enjoy a strong relationship and students who come to Tasmania become part of the world’s largest training network for commercial divers. As well as this, students at both schools benefit from an exchange of staff between the schools, where important experience and knowledge is shared between the schools and within the industry.
Our unique ADAS Part 4 Closed Bell training course was established by Alf Leadbitter back in the late 90s. Alf is based at our Fort William school and has been a commercial diver since the mid 70s. Alf’s massive industry knowledge, built up over many years working in a wide range of jobs in the commercial diving and commercial diving training industry, mean students benefit from in depth, up-to-date, information gleaned from industry bodies in both the Southern and Northern hemispheres. We challenge you to ask Alf a question about commercial diving training that he doesn’t know the answer to!
